Alicia:

Hey there. Welcome back to Midlife and Glowing. I'm Alicia.

Nicole:

And I'm Nicole.

Alicia:

And today we're

Nicole:

celebrating

Alicia:

Nicole's birthday, so happy birthday to you.

Nicole:

Thank you,

Alicia:

Earlier this week, we did a really special main episode all about reflection, celebration, and setting intentions for the year ahead. And

Nicole:

it reminded us of something really important. No matter what birthday you're celebrating, thirty nine forty five, fifty two sixty, you can reinvent yourself at any age and any stage. Midlife can be the beginning of a new chapter.

Alicia:

So today we wanna give you a simple. mini reset ritual. Something you can do any time you want to pause, reflect, and rewrite your story.

Nicole:

But before we even dive in, let's set the stage. If you can carve out 15 or 20 minutes where you won't be interrupted, maybe make a cup of tea, pop some essential oils in a diffuser, put on some soft music. Whatever makes the space feel calming and sacred to you, the environment you create will help you be more present and open.

Alicia:

Yes. Treat this like a gift you're giving yourself. Your future deserves that thoughtfulness. So don't rush through it, because the more intentional you are, the more powerful the experience becomes.

Nicole:

Once you're settled, here are the three steps of the reset ritual. Number one, reflect on where you are. Ask yourself, what story have I been telling about myself lately? Maybe it's, I'm too old, or I've lost myself, or I'll never figure this out. Just notice it without judgment Number two, release what no longer serves you. Write that story down and then let it go. You can crumple it up, toss it, or even burn it safely if you want a more symbolic release. Number three, reframe with intention. Replace it with a new story that feels empowering and true for this season. Something, like I'm entering a new chapter of strength and wisdom, or I'm learning to prioritize my joy and health.

Alicia:

And don't just think about these quickly. Really take your time. Journal about them, sit with them. Let yourself feel the weight of releasing the old story and the excitement of stepping into the new one.

Nicole:

And visualize it. Really take some time to picture the life you want and imagine what that would look and feel like. Here's why this matters. Your brain is listening. Every time you repeat a new story, you're literally rewiring your neural pathways.

Alicia:

And the science is clear, we can create new patterns at any age, you're not stuck with your old script, which means. This ritual is more than symbolic. It's a way to retrain your brain and body for the future You want. And this may sound morbid, but you know, I've thought about if I were to pass away today, how would I be remembered? Would I be satisfied with that? What legacy am I leaving behind?

Nicole:

That's funny you say that. One of the first personal development books that I read was The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey, and he actually says to do that, he says, think about how you would wanna be remembered at your funeral. Write your own obituary and reflect on whether or not the life you're living right now is in alignment with how you want to be remembered when you pass. And I think that's a really powerful question to ask, and it really makes you get honest with yourself so here's today's glow reflection. If I could rewrite my story for this next chapter, what would I want it to say?

Alicia:

Your story is worth being thoughtful about. Take the time, set the space. Give yourself the gift of imagining a future that excites and supports you.

Nicole:

Thanks for joining us for this glow bite. If you haven't listened yet, check out our main episode from this week where we dove deeper into my birthday reflections and intentions.

Alicia:

And as always, we'll be back next week with more ways to glow through midlife.

Nicole:

Until then, here's to rewriting your story and stepping fully into your next chapter.
